Hi,
Could anyone please tell me the significance of taking the MCCQE1 and NAC-OSCE for IMG's without previous residency/post graduation?

From the MCC website I understand that only MCCEE is required to apply for CARMS round1 matching.

Does it make any difference if these exams are taken before applying to CARMS?

Thanks.

Hi!
You certainly can apply to Carms with only MCCEE, but you are not going to get any spot.
A Canadian med student has to pass the LMCC exam ( we call it MCCQE1), so it doesn't make sense they would allow us (IMGs) to join Carms with only the EE.
the NAC-OSCE is a new exam, you can take it if you are trying to get a salaried position and practice Family medicine / general practice. Every province has specific requirements and programs for this.
But if you want to pursue post graduate education (specialty) here in Canada, you need to take the MCCQE1 and MCCQE2, and apply for carms. With those exams passed, you become a stronger candidate.

regards!

Can we take the MCCQE2 before completing 12 months of residency?

yes, you can! as soon as you pass the MCCQE1, you can apply for a seat on the MCCQE2.
