signing up for DAT exam. how?

do you guys know how much time in advance i need to register for the exam? ...i heard that you needed to register 1 month prior to taking the exam ??not quite sure. Also, can you literally take it any day of the year..or is it excluding holidays?...coz..im planning to take mine on Martin Luther King's day ( the day we have no school)...
could anyone help me out? thanks!
