Hi all,
I emailed my professor about doing research and he has not responded yet. I have already done a summer's worth of research which is published and I presented it as well. Any suggestions on what else I should do as far as getting research? I'm applying for med school next April/May. Thanks

Try sending emails to various professors at your school's different science departments (or any area of research you're interested in!) but don't make them robotic. Try and personalize the emails the best you can by writing specifically about the parts of their research that seem interesting to you.

I sent out around 40+ emails before ONE person responded.

Also timing is key. I genuinely believe applying in the early spring for a position in the fall/summer is key to getting into a lab. Many graduating seniors will be leaving the lab and this opens spots for individuals trying to get into research.

Yeah--I just sent out mass emails to a dozen professors. Only one replied and that was 3 months later.

You could also look into university sponsored programs.
Best of Luck!

Lol dang 40? U were serious. I'll be a little more persistent tomorrow. Thanks!
