Ok, after lurking the school specific threads, I started thinking... If a school has given out interview invites to applicants who were complete at a later date than you were complete, does that mean they have read your application and decided not to offer an interview? With thousands of applicants, I'm pretty skeptical they'd go back and re-read it... Unless there's a "maybe" pile?

Obviously there's no way to know for sure, but it makes sense to me... Anybody have experience getting a late invite?

yeah, late invites are fairly common and as long as you get an invite you're in the game. I got a late invite from UTMemphis and ended up getting in though I had already chosen a different school. So, no there really isn't a silent rejection, they'll let you know you're rejected lol.

Yes, some schools have a "maybe" pile and some just need to find one way or another to plow through thousands of applications. Some will sort by MCAT and gpa and look at the highest first regardless of "date complete". I get a stack every week that is in alphabetical order by last name, not sorted by date completed. Some reviewers tackle the work right away and get it done while another reviewer, perhaps with applications that were complete a week earlier will take a full two weeks to review the assigned applications. Make the assumption that schools will be issuing interview invites until sometime between November and February and you need to sit tight until then... this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Definitely places this all into perspective, thank you
