I found this as a list from 2009.

Does it still stand that these are the schools who give silent rejections?

1. Jefferson
2. NYMC
3. Drexel
4. Rush
5. Johns Hopkins
6. Temple
7. Northwestern
8. UC Irvine
9. Mount Sinai
10. UPenn
11. UCLA

Are you talking pre-interview only I assume? I got a rejection letter from UCLA snail mail, pre-secondary

I got an e-mail rejection from northwestern. One Sinai's thread someone said they were rejected pre interview by e-mail as well.

Maybe start a new thread for this year for schools that have sent out rejections.

I believe there is? maybe it hasn't been updated in awhile, and doesn't specify pre-interview or post-interview

At this point, if you haven't received an II from a school, isn't that pretty much a silent rejection?

It's gotta be, right? I applied in June and still haven't heard anything from 5 of my schools. 🙄

I got a UPenn rejection pre-interview via email.

I got an II a few days ago from a school so don't give up hope yet!

Complete at schools in July/Aug and got an II yesterday! I would assume a silent rejection is when they never send you a rejection email period? Or perhaps when they have finished giving out interviews but still leave you hanging?

I would add Tufts to the list. I could be wrong but I heard they stop invites at the end of Feb which means if you don't hear by today you've essentially been silently rejected....

NYMC rejects a good number pre-interview

Mount Sinai started sending out rejections earlier this month

How about...

1. Jefferson
2. Drexel
3. Rush
4. Johns Hopkins
5. Temple
6. Northwestern
7. UC Irvine
8. UPenn
9. UCLA[/QUOTE]
10. Tufts

I've been complete at Columbia since July and still haven't heard a peep.... 🙁

I can confirm that Sinai and Northwestern DO send out actual rejections... 🙁 Sinai this morning, NW about a month and a half ago.

Emory does silent rejections too i think. I got 9 interviews of 10 applications (7 from top-20 schools). Never heard a peep from Emory pre-interview despite sending in an update letter in november. Oh well....Vandy 😍

I'd still consider Emory for residency though:laugh:

The Temple forum had a bunch of people who received pre interview rejection emails. Temple can probably come off the list.

blatant self-promotion

Yes, this was in reference to pre-interview rejections - silent meaning no notification in portal or by email.

As of now the list is.
Jefferson
Drexel
Rush
Johns Hopkins
Emory
UC Irvine
UCLA
Tufts
Columbia (possibly)

I got pre-interview rejections from UCI / UCLA.

Looks like most schools are giving you some sort of news now compared with 2009.

Jefferson
Drexel
Rush
Johns Hopkins
Emory
Tufts
SUNY Downstate (possibly)
Columbia (possibly)

On Jefferson's thread there have been a few pre-interview rejections recently. So unless we are talking strictly post-interview silence, Jefferson can be removed from the list as well.

I got a pre-interview rejection from SUNY Downstate last week via snail mail

Does Alabama do pre-interview rejections? I have had the "remain under consideration" status for a while. I'm not sure if this is the last I will hear from them.

I got a pre interview rejection from Drexel via the status page.

Emory specifically states on their status page that they don't reject anyone until the end of the interview season. They're still interviewing, though I think tomorrow may be the last day.

I don't think UAB sends pre-interview rejections until the very end of the application season either. I don't know this for sure though. I've never seen anything in writing.

As for other "silent rejections", I've got Baylor and University of Louisville on my list. I'm assuming both rejection letters will eventually find their way to my inbox.

Yup! Just received an email rejection just now:laugh:

What is the point of silent rejections, besides being incredibly inconsiderate to applicants?

There is no point. As much as we all hated those initial "quick" rejections from schools like BU, I think we can have respect for them now.

Amen to that.

Edit: I tried emailing Cincinnati an update and got a response back stating there are no more interview dates available, but a final decision will be set in the next few weeks... whatever that means.

I agree with Hopkins and Yale on silent rejections - as I've been complete since July and haven't heard anything since. Also Harvard and Einstein, though I'm particularly confused about that one. It's quite annoying to have nearly a third of your schools send nothing, not even a curt rejection, after 7 months.

Well, I believe some schools, e.g. Yale, take a second glance at some/all the applications that were put aside earlier in the season around Jan/Feb, so there's that.

I got a pre-interview rejection from UCIrvine on March 2nd, the latest day for them to get back to me. I am OOS, so I felt like that biased them against me period...
