Silly pronunciation question: AMCAS?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't think I've ever heard anyone spell it out.😳

Although, you may get the ocsassional "aim-case" if applying near the Great Lakes 🙂 jk

hm, i had no idea. is it "you-suss?" learn somethin' new every day.

Some say "you-suss," others "you-shuss," and still others "useless." That last one probably stems from a frustration of many of my fellow employees with their library's system for access to journals, though.😳

I don't use any of those. I try not to say anything at all, instead referring to it as "that milmed school down the street.":meanie:

(Totally kidding!)

(Edit: And really, I don't think it's their library that has the problem, but rather our network...)

You're a little bit low on the second a. Make it longer. It should sound like this: "Am-cass"
You were saying it like this: "Am-cass"
See the difference?
Practice with me: "Am-cass"

All the military docs I've spoken to say "You-suss"...and its okay, OP. We all start somewhere 🙂
