Is there a book with osteopathic med school information that is similar to the allopathic med school MSAR? I have a thin orange one called "Osteopathic Medical College Information Book" but it doesn't have nearly as much information. I got it from some AACOM reps at a med school fair at my university, who said this was all they had, but I thought I read somewhere else that there is a better book.

Hi, doinmybest5840,

If there is an official MSAR-analog for osteopathic medical schools, I have yet to see it. You might find some analogous information from Princeton Review or Kaplan, or other similar companies. I believe that USN&WR also has some selected statistics. That being said, I actually took the liberty of compiling a few links from a variety of sources, including the AACOM, that can probably get you started in the direction of finding various official and unofficial statistics on Osteopathic Medical Schools. Taken together, they can probably provide you with quite a lot of useful information. Check it out here:

Spice did you just put all those links together? Great job. I think that post should some how be made a sticky. Any admins want to do that? 👍

Thanks, Harvey. I just put that list together a few hours ago. It's a good compilation in general; the only problem is that link #4 may contain outdated average MCAT/GPA information. If anyone can find a more recent listing that contains average MCAT/GPA across the different osteopathic medical schools, let me know, and I'll update link #4 with that one. Meanwhile, just know that link #4 is likely dated and probably of limited value. Link #3 contains the updated average MCAT information across the different osteopathic schools, therefore, we really just need updated average GPA information.
