Simple reflexes = Fixed action pattern or no?

Kaplan says no, Destroyer says yes.

Kaplan: "Fixed action patterns are complex, coordinated, innate behavioral responses to specific stimulations in the environment. These responses are controlled from all levels of the CNS. "

Destroyer: "Simple reflexes are the simplest kind of FAP."

Who to believe?
 
I would say that a simple reflex can very well be a fixed action pattern. A simple reflex is not necessary a "simple" mechanistic reflex in terms of complexity of synapses. A simple reflex is an innate and does not require learning. A fixed action pattern is also innate. A FAP also is usually carried out to completion, in which many simple reflexes also do.

Disagree, although it is a point of contention. This is how I remember it:
