Simplifying on the GRE

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum but this is the only thing I can think about. On the GRE, are you supposed to simplify all write-in answers? Say the answer is 25/50 for a ratio, do they want 25/50, or 1:2. Again, sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

you don't have to simplify.

from the ets website: "Fractions do not need to be reduced to lowest terms, though you may need to reduce your fraction to fit in the boxes."
