Shouldn't this question be answered like this?

moz-screenshot.png
Sin A x 1 / Sin A - (Cos A / (1 / Tan A) = 1 - (Cos A x Tan A)?

cos divided by cot = sin.

cot is 1/tan or Cos/Sin<---the inverse of Tan

You see in the picture where it is

cos/(cos/sin)

you can simplify it even further.

it becomes

cos * Sin/Cos

the cos cancel out leaving you with just sin

from there you just multiple Sin A and you'll be left with

1-Sin^2 a = Cos^2 A

about how many of these trig problems usually make it on the dat?
destroyer had a bunch of them, but is this high yield?

sorry can't tell you how many of these are on the DAT. I havent take it yet 😀
the only thing i can tell you for these types of problems is this:
first look for trig identities
then right everything in terms of sine and cosine
then simplify ( you may have to use trig identities again)
another formula that comes in handy for these types of problems is:
a^2-b^2 = (a-b)(a+b)
if you have any specific question just post here
good luck
