Site for Pharmacy Internships

I know this is a rather stupid question but I really need help:

Is there any website where I can find information about pharmacy internships...................I really need help with this. Thanks for the help

Why do you need help? Doesn't your school have info available??? I've always registered as a site with the school and they made arrangements for placement of a student. Were you thinking about a summer or after school job perhaps as an intern?

At Butler we typically get e-mails about summer internships opportunities. Our school recently had a Pharmacy Expo which featured potential employers from all practice areas; perhaps you should suggest this if your school doesn't have this.

Our internship job fair is coming up in a couple of weeks. Different companies set up booths. We sign up for interview time slots the week before the event. You usually hear back by March. Everyone who wants an internship will usually get one.

If your school doesn't have a job fair, you can just phone up the district manager of a local pharmacy and ask about it. Walgreens has a big internship program with projects, etc.

I've an internship already with a retail chain but honestly, I'd rather broaden my horizons and do something else.

talk to your classmates

they'll know where there are openings and such as well as be able to give you ideas as to what they do

Apply to local hospital pharmacies - not just those that are teaching sites. Apply to home health care pharmacies - those who do home IV's or consult for convalescent/nursing homes. If you are in an area which have drug or biotech companies around - apply there - they often take interns and rotate you through all aspects of what a pharmacist does in their facilities. If you have a BS in a science, its even easier at these places. If you are in the midwest or Nev, AZ, NM....there are lots of insurance company administrators of drug plans located here. You can see what goes on with drug authorization or drug management from an insurance perspective. Good luck!

i thought you were...

i guess my class talked so much about where they worked and what they were doing and if there were any openings that rarely did anyone have any questions about it


that and i don't really see if you're already in school what a BS would help with...
but
i don't know that much about this type of thing

My class talks only about schl work...................and I guess, you get so caught in schl that the semester ends and you have really put no thought to finding summer internships.

But thanks for your help though. I'll ask around, hopefully I'll find something.
