😕 Does anyone know what the status : ACCEPT WHEN PLACE AVAILABLE means for southern Illinois university admissions? Does this mean I'm on something like a waitlist, or does this mean I don't have to send out my application for the masters program i'm considering as my backup plan? Would appreciate any info...

I feel for you. I don't "KNOW" what it exactly means but I would send out the application for the master program. I think it means you're in the waitlist with very high prioirity but they don't have a spot for you right now. They want to accept you but they can't because there is no spot. I'm in the similar situation with a couple of med schools as you're. I think you have a very good chance to get in this year but there's no guarantee until you really get accepted. Hope this helps.

I received the AWPA letter too...though I think you should feel a little more confident than the average waitlistee...from what I understand, everyone that is eventually accepted receives that letter, so you've passed the first step to being accepted...I also have heard that in the past two years, everyone that has received the awpa letter has eventually been accepted, so be optimistic!

Exactly! I got a real acceptance letter about two weeks after the AWPA letter and you do have to get the AWPA before getting accepted so it's a good sign! :luck:

Me too - AWPA letter and then the acceptance a few weeks later. I don't think that they can reject you after sending you that letter - I think the worst that can happen is waitlist. It seems like they admit in waves and they are just letting you know that you will most likely be accepted in the next set of decisions they make. Good luck!
