Hey everyone,

I figured I needed a catchy title in order to grab your attention in the hopes that maybe you'd respond to this thread.

Unfortunately for me, I happen to be a type A. Go figure, but no need to worry, definitely not a gunner.

For those of you who got accepted, what size and thickness were the envelopes for the acceptance letters? This way when I run to the mailbox...actually almost crash into it with my car as I drive home trying to check the mail box.....I won't have high hopes if the envelope is a specific size and thickness.

I will start this one:

AZCOM acceptance: 6 X 9 1/2 envlope with at least a thickness of approximately 10 - 8 1/2 X 11 sheets of paper.

Schools I'll be waiting on....if I can prevent myself from calling them first:
CCOM
COMP
UHSCOM

Thanks for the input! 😀

if I remember correctly both PCOMs and NYCOMs letters were a few pages and thats it. They said more information would follow in other mailings.

hey scubadiva,

COMP will come in a 4 1/2 X 9 1/2 envelope with four things in it...so it feels pretty thick.

your acceptance letter, a letter from the AOA president, accept/reject the offer form, and FAFSA info.

good luck...stay safe behind the wheel=)

Hey Scubadiva,

I got my UHS acceptance letter three weeks ago and it was just a normal size letter...It's not a big envelope with lots of info, they send more info later

I was notified of my CCOM acceptance via e-mail a week before the letter reached me. As I understand it now they're doing acceptance notifications via phone with a letter to follow. As far as I remember the envelope was a regular business envelope with one sheet of paper in it.

Oh. my. god. Just open the damn letter already.

It's not that I'm staring at this envlope wondering what's inside. It's that I don't want to have high expectations if the contents of the envelope contain dismal news. The first interview invitation I received I had extreme difficult opening. I ended up with 2 extremely painful and disturbing papercuts 😱. Now I am sure you would not want me to be your doctor seeing as how this situation might be representative of my lack of coordination.

Example: Someone hands you a beautifully wrapped giftbox, but what happens to be inside is a box of paperclips instead of the special edition DVD set you were hoping to receive. This would be a disappointment (unless of course you wanted a box of paperclips...although, paperclips do happen to be my favorite office supply above and beyond the almighty staples 🙄 ). On the other hand, if the giftbox was small and hastily wrapped, the expectations would be lower and therefore, you would have lower hopes in receiving the special edition DVD set. This is why I am asking what size and thickness the acceptance envelope is. I don't want to have my hopes up when I'm holding a rejection letter. I hope this example helps explain why I am curious as to the size and thickness of the envelopes.

Maybe a better method I should encourage all schools to stamp the outside of the envelope with the following: interview invite, interview waitlist, no invitation to interview, acceptance, waitlist, and rejection. What do you guys think? I would prefer this method.

Back to the original topic however, I just received an acceptance to UHSCOM  !!!

UHSCOM envlope acceptance: standard size, one paper stating the acceptance, and for those of you who are just like me...I saw the return business envelope through the letter without opening it, so I was assuming and hoping that it was an acceptance letter. It WAS!!! UHSCOM is second choice for me. I am waiting for CCOM and interviewing next week.

Thank you to everyone who responded! I appreciate it! 🙂

Just thought I'd update this for those of you who are waiting to hear from schools (and happen to be neurotic like me  )and are wondering if the envelope contains good news.

Here's the list for the size and thickness of the acceptance envelopes:

AZCOM: 6 1/2 X 9'' with approximately 8 pages inside

CCOM: 8 X 10'' with approximately 6 pages inside and a brochure

UHSCOM: standard sized with one page inside and a return postage envelope (you can see through the envelope so it actually looks like good news because of the return envelope inside)

MSUCOM: 8 X 10 with 6 pages inside (they actually called me before I received the package so it wasn't a surprise)

COMP: standard sized with approximately 10 pages inside (it's a thick, hefty envelope)

By the way, I actually called the schools before I received the acceptances (Except for MSUCOM and COMP since they weren't my top choices).
