My school offers the decision to skip Intro to Chemistry if you have high school experience and go on straight to Chemistry 1A which is General Chemistry I. From experience, has any of you done this?

I haven't done Chemistry in a while but I feel like most of my knowledge would return when I start General Chemistry. I also did quite well in Chemistry in high school. Any suggestions?

Intro to chem? I feel like that would be such a waste of time. Chem 1 isn't that bad at all. I don't remember ish from when I took chem in high school sophomore year and am doing fine in gen chem 1.

You shouldnt need to take an intro class. I didnt take a intro class and my high school chemistry was terrible and I still did good.

I had a three year gap between when I took Chem 1 and Chem 2. I remember nothing, i still managed a decent grade. I agree with the others, intro to chem is probably a waste of time. You can do it!

Why waste time? Chem 1 is the basic of all basics.

Let me put it this way for you man. I took Gen Chem when I was 25ish and I haven't taken Chemistry since I was a junior in high school, so it was roughly 10 years. Not only did I get an A but finished at the top of the class (prof ranked us after each test. I believe I was number 3 out of a class of 70+).

Like others have said skip Intro and go straight to Gen chem. It should be easier for you since you've been out of high school less than a year...

I broke my back... It's spinal.

Most 'intro' classes are just a money pit intended to get the school more money. They are useless. Take chem 1.

Thank you everyone for the help 🙂 very appreciated!
