Hey everyone,
I hear about all of these awesome slacker rotations where people go an hour a day, have Friday off.... etc.

I am scheduling my Fourth year and after my audition rotations and interviews I am looking to take it easy for a month or two. Can anyone provide me with their slacker rotation information? More specifically, the speciality and preceptor you were with.

Come on, share the wealth!

THANKS!!!

Addiction medicine, sleep medicine, radiology, pathology, any out patient subspecialty rotation you can (usually they'll only have office hours like 3 days a week).

Ophtho, assuming that's not your specialty of choice. When I did it, the attending said that he went to Europe for 3 weeks during the rotation, and he was even applying to that program.

I slacked the **** out of rads last month. First day dude says, yeah we don't really care about attendance, you are free to come when you want, and leave when you want.

OOOOKKKKKK. To bad my last rotation as a student is ER. I would much rather have had them switched around.

Everybody tells me Rads is chill but it probably depends on the preceptor/hospital. I'll be doing some of those next year! There is also a dermatology preceptor that has students work 3 days a week, not too shabby 😎

You'll probably want to get the opinion of 4th years at your school. Derm, for example, may be easy in a lot of places but at least at my school it's not. Students aren't even allowed to take off more than 3 days for interviews while on the rotation. It's derm for goodness sakes!
