You heard wrong.

If you don't go to class you can study during this time and sleep 8 hours a night.

The only time I slept 2 hours was when I stayed up all night drinking.

One other exception was during final exams when I stayed up late to watch a Lakers-Suns overtime playoff game. I only got 6 hours that night.

The people who stay up all night and don't sleep are the ones who are borderline failing. You will find that the A students get plenty of sleep every night. If you learn to study the right things, you can cut down on your study time immensely.

that's not true, I am not (nor have ever been borderline failing) and I hardly get any sleep, but I also do lots more than study.

If it's not just from studying, it doesn't count!

I always lose sleep when I hit the bars on school nights!

I haven't slept this much since puberty. I'm doing just fine as far as grades. Plenty of hours in the day. It's all about time manageament.

Who fed you that BS. I don't know of any med students who sleep 2hrs per day. That's insane, you can easily sleep 8hrs/day, now around exam time, yea I could sleep couple of nights 2-3hrs, but thats just the night before the exam, otherwise forget it. Trust me you won't need to sleep only 2hrs, relax, chill and dont worry about it.

Yea well, if you are a PA or paramedic who works 3 16 hr shifts over the week, and does med school, yea I can see you getting next to no sleep. But a regular student with nothing but studying, maybe working out and socializing, you should get plenty of sleep.

med students dont sleep because they are out hitting on other med students

its a viscious cycle, you'll learn about in psych

Med students are too high maintenance. I prefer nursing students.

I prefer Law students myself.

They love to party, are super easy, and you work on legal contacts for your eventual malpractice suits.

Nursing students become more bitter as they age. Go with the psych students. They give it up on the first date and its usually crazy sex!

Nursing students always give it up when they are young.

I drink with law students, but few of them are single. They date each other alot.
