Crappie is the best tasting freshwater fish. The white flaky meat is light and sweet. And actually...smaller crappie is better to eat...which produces the perfect size filet for deep frying in peanut oil.👍

And because crappies school....once you get on em...u can catch your limit quickly..

Or saute in butter with sesame seeds...green salad....nice Chardonnay - yum!😀

oh...u know... I know how i was growing up. I also know i can't make her do anything she doesn't want to... i can only guide her.

You'd be surprised! MSIII absolutely DID NOT WANT TO GO INTO MEDICINE AT ALL. But - I knew she'd be good at it😉 .

I just never told her that until recently, but there I was...always talking medicine......it bit her before she even knew it. It helped her dad told her constantly she should be a dentist, which I knew wouldn't fit her at all.😛

But - she's a good arguer - she could have been a lawyer too - who knows now....

But - she still likes to camp & fish - some things never change.🙂

So I've heard! I definetly plan on fishing for some in the next few weeks. I'll bump this thread with a report when I do. Sure seems like fun on the light gear.

Spiderwire...10lb with red and chartreuse plastic tub jigs... deadly.

I should have gone to law school....make money from other people's misery....:meanie:

Man, I lived in Oklahoma all my life and my country friends just told me what they really do at those things. I was disappointed. 🙁

Nice crappie catch though. I've eaten almost every type of fish in oklahoma except a crappie. Heard it was good but I can never seem to catch a decent size one to take home to cook.

That is sad... you ought to have some killer Crappie lakes in your area...heck Texoma produces good crappies...

Do u tip them with minnows?

some people do.

But when they are biting...they'll hit anything. Then again, crappie isn't very aggressive...so in order for them to bite...you have to present the bait in front of them... that's why working the jigs is the way to go. I use 2 jigs...about 2 feet apart...which covers the crappie's location well enough.

I caught 1 crappie on a minnow 2 nights ago....rest of 30+ came on jigs and rubber shad...

Oh...and crappie bites very gently...you'll feel a very very gentle tug...and you don't have to set the hook that hard...the mouth is very thin.

Trout hits the lures hard... and bass also...

But you can tell when a crappie hits your line... very light.

Seriously? Can't say that I've ever read Sartre - I've read The Stranger, though, and that was enough of Camus for me!

Once y'all finish pharmacy school...u'll read more important journals....

I surely do....

Like golf digest... car and driver... now those are important journals..

Yeah, that's what I heard but I've never been there. I'm going this summer though after classes are done. I caught some decent sized ones at quartz mountain in lonewolf but I was at a retreat so I didn't get a chance to bring them back. Hopefully I don't fail a class so I can spend most of my summer fishing 😀

I don't know, I've had some pretty good Northern Pike, and bass done by campfire is hard to beat as well. Then there was the rainbow trout we caught by hand after knocking some beaver dams down in MT. Seriously good stuff. Red Snapper off of South Padre wasn't anything to sneeze at either (but I guess you did say freshwater.) My favorite was that Gortons breaded, ooh, umm, nevermind.

I've heard Pike is good..never had it. Bass is aight...not as good as Crappie.. and to me, salmonoids aren't nearly as good as sunfish....

when I grow up...I'm gonna join the crappie circuit..

How can you read golf digest? Once you've seen one issue, you've seen them all. It's just a repeat month after month with a new token model showing how to swing on plane.

Isn't that the basis for all magazines?

I read the high quality articles for literary value..

I think golf digest is much worse than others. The mechanics of the golf swing haven't changed, nor will change much, in the near future, so what's to learn? Taylor Made has put a different piece of titanium on their new driver that has a weird name and is charging five hundred bucks for it? Literary value? Right.

Actually, I don't read about golf swing unless it's an instructional book. And I rarely work on my fullswing. I'll hit some balls to loosen up...but that's it...if I'm working on something...it's usually knock down..punch...or 100 yards in shots. I'm no longer interested in the mechanics of golfswing... I've searched for it for 26 years...and found it..

That being said..I think golfswing fad changes every decade or so....

Nicklaus' high flying elbow upright swing..to...flatswing of Player...and Azinger...to Loop de loop of Freddy Couples...to Mechanical perfection of Nick Faldo.. then single plane of Vijay to modified single plane of tiger...

Reverse C... to upright follow through...

I believe every generation has their signature golfswing...

lol, people go to pharm school to learn how to count...

How come you're not walking down the 18th fairway with Tiger on Sunday's then? Can't putt?

Same reason 99.9999% of the golfing population isn't walking down the 18th fairway with Tiger on Sundays.

Having a golfswing doesn't qualify a golfer as a good golfer.

99.9999% of the population doesn't claim to have found their swing, either.

I feel sorry for you then if you've "found your swing" and still don't think your a good golfer. Maybe you should break all your clubs, take 2 weeks off, and then quit. 😀

Don't feel sorry for me.... I understand my swing..its faults and strengths.. And I also understand that my swing doesn't change day to day..but my tempo does. So as long as I keep my tempo in check, I expect a round of reasonable ball striking. I do think I'm a good golfer.. and my index ranges from 2 to 6....depends on the part of the season.

"Found my swing" doesn't mean I'm going to play to a world class competitive level. I'm an amateur who enjoys golf outing with buddies...

I bet you've got a pull cart, play the blue tees, talk about kidney hormones, and then have a cold beer after a 77?

Actually, I either carry or ride...don't own a pull cart...and play the black tees..talk about fishing...and..only drink a cold one once in a while..
