SLU off-site interview and SLU campus questions

I just got an interview invite to SLU and was told that a member of the admissions committee would be in my area over a certain time period to conduct interviews. So, my interview will be in my hometown on the west coast instead of at the medical school. Is this common? And also, those of you who have visited the medical school for your interviews, what was your impression of the campus?

Go to the class threads section of the allo forum and look at the SLU class. PM some of the students to get a first hand experience response. I can tell you that an interview on the west coast is in no way a disadvantage to the applicant's prospects. Many students in last year's class were accepted without being on campus.
