Sorry for the neurotic question, but does anyone out there have "small groups" in med school (ours is called Clinical Performance Development, CPD, but yours is probably called something different), and do you get a grade for it?

If so, is that grade factored in to class rank and stuff?
I just took my preclinical small groups final OSCE, and I'm not sure how well it went. I hope I don't fail, most of all, but even if I don't, I hope I don't get a bad grade which sinks my rank.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

half of mine do and other half don't (just pass/fail).

it's BS being graded in "small groups"

Ours is pass fail too. All of our preclinical classes are. But, from our preclinical grades, they still derive an internal ranking and use it to determine AOA and stuff. So I was wondering if small groups would factor into that class ranking.

Think of it this way: the people who get AOA are probably not worried about this, because they're too busy being good at everything.

Something tells me that exams still carry the most weight, regardless of what they call these group things.

I think he's more asking how to do well on small group work to get an A. @HereWeGo21, I thought all classes give you a syllabus to tell you the percentage that small groups contribute to the grade. Then that entire grade, as a whole, contributes to your class rank. Just don't get an professionalism lapses.
