Accepted to Case and UNMC! Rejected from Louisville but it was my last choice anyway.

GPA: 3.61
Freshman
Caucasian, female, financially disadvantaged, from an underrepresented and rural area
EC's: One year of studying abroad, member of two different clubs, one of which I'm an officer in, and a representative for my school's student government. No volunteering or shadowing yet, and I didn't list any of the research hours I've done because at the time it wasn't a lot.
Essays: Probably not the best, I look back at them now and wonder what I was thinking when I wrote them lol
ACT: idk if it was weighed too heavily in the decision or not, but I figured I'd add it anyway. Got a 29 the first time I took it and a 30 the second time
LOR's: One was from my advisor who I also do research under and I know him pretty well. The other was from my biology professor who I didn't know as well, but I did get an A in his class.
I think that's everything relevant.. if I'm missing something I'll edit again

Denied from UCLA. I have yet to see anyone get accepted into UCLA though!
I honestly am surprised I didn't get in because I put lots of work into application and was a strong applicant

my application was not under review and i called the office in january before applying and told them that my GPA under 2.5 (2.5 is the minimum requirement) and the lady told if their too many applicants we will not review your application, as my GPA below 2.5

I just realized that the dates we were accepted on are right next to the status.. no wonder I got rejected from Louisville, they made a decision before my LOR's were even sent in 😵

That probably didn't look good on my transcript and should have probably waited for my fall transcript; Retook and got an A. Too bad they didn't see that lol. Economically disadvantaged growing up. Personal essay was good , diversity essay sucked. Recommendations weren't that great. Barely any EC or volunteering/research.

Hi! I was accepted to Yale which saw my application the earliest by far (01/16/15). Columbia and Duke reviewed my app on 02/12/15 and 02/14/15 respectively so no wonder I was rejected, but it's totally fine because YALE 2015!!

Applied to Case, UVA, Louisville. My application was completed late, 01/28, because of family issues but whatever I barely missed the deadline either way.
My diversity essay I felt was really strong. Personal essay...maybe? I'm not sure.
EC's: I'm part of a couple medicine clubs, an LBGTQ club (I was scared of rejection especially because of that...), and a volunteering club. I'm also a mentor for my high-school's robotics team.
