Hi everyone,

I have gotten accepted to Geisinger MBS and Rowan, still waiting for Rutgers. Would like to know any pros and cons for these programs? I am a NJ resident so would prefer Rutgers, since is cheaper and closer to my support system, but from what I have read here it seems like the program is hard and there is really no linkage between MBS and MD school, in terms that they dont accept many of the MBS students into their school.

Rowan seems competitive too, but does DO-SMP lower my chances to apply to MD later? I feel like attending this program would put me in advantage for DO schools only, and I would like to have a shot for both schools, DO and MD. Rowan is still in state for me, so that means cheaper tuition, but far, so would be living/commuting costs. I dont know much about this program since I could not attend the open house. Seems like they have night classes and 2-3 times a week, so the program takes longer than 1 year to finish. Anyone here that has finished the program? or know anyone who has? Additional info would be much appreciated.

Geisinger-has a lower requirement of GPA and MCAT for a "guaranteed interview," however, from research I have done, seems like they mostly support PA students for their MD acceptance. It is far so I have to live there, very expensive tuition/living costs for out state students. And scranton isnt the nicest town either. But I dont mind that if any of these schools open doors for me in the future.

My background: undergraduate cGPA 3.35 (lower through AMCAS cGPA 3.0 and sGPA 2.8). Just took the MCAT and still waiting for the score. Lets say I applied to DO schools only with these stats and hypothetically with and MCAT on the 500-504 range, do you think I would have a shot for DO schools without SMP? I have tons of volunteer exp, EMT certified, clinical research exp, lab research, pharm tech, shadowing, poster presentation, community service. Thank you so much for your help guys. Any info would be appreciated.
