I recently found my old trove of NES games. I've had my SNES games around for a bit but just seeing the NES games makes me wanna play em! So my brother mentioned that there are systems that play both types. I found them on amazon and want your thoughts on them. Do any of you have either of them? I've read the reviews so don't tell me to look at them. I want the opinions of SDN's finest minds on this!

I mean come on, there has to be at least one of you who has one of these!

FC Twin by Yobo- http://www.amazon.com/Twin-Video-Game-System-Super-Nintendo/dp/B0019X5NOA/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Retro Duo by Retro-Bit- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012NZK8G/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=

If I get in this cycle I'm definitely buying SNES and mario.

Frky-I don't have access to the Lounge yet but I will do when I have it.

Sha- I've tried emulators and as much fun as it is to play them on a sweet computer, I prefer working with the controllers than the keys on a keyboard. The emulators may work better though... and I could probably get a free one...

PR-Well these two duos are about $40, a used Super goes for about $35 and a new NES goes 600 to 2k 😱 while a used one is about $31 all on amazon. There are a handful of NIB games available online too, about $500 a pop.

oh i didn't know you had to have a certain number of posts for the lounge. my bad. i will say that once every few months i bust out an NES emulator and run through The Legend of Zelda.

I think you need to be a donor to have access to the lounge? I don't have access...

I did a search and after some browsing I found some folks who say 25 posts and a week's time as a member give you access but if you (MedPR) don't have it I dunno...

Agreed! Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask--all great games! I even liked Diddy Kong Racing.

Still have both my original NES and SNES (bought the NES with my first summer job and got the SNES during my first misguided run at college). Both hell of a lot of fun to drag out every so often.

I bet! Do you have an old tv you hook them up to or a newer one? OP- have you thought about how it'd look on a flat screen or whatever tv you have? I wonder if it would stretch out to fit a 42inch or (or bigger?) or if it'd stick to a limited space

I have a 36" LCD, but I use it on my 28" tube that I have in my MAME arcade. I really should get around to buying a converter to use it on the LCD, but I honestly don't use it enough these days to remember to buy one LOL.

After seeing this thread I had to break out my super and play some super mario world. Just what I need- another potential distraction from ochem! 😳

Also, the red-white-yellow cords are what I used to hook it up to my 32 inch flat screen. It had a black border around the square game display part so the size of everything was as I remembered and not stretched.

This post might be akin to bringing a truckload of kegs to an alcoholics anonymous BBQ, however I feel I must share...

Get to play a TON of SNES and NES games online, use save states, not have to pay anything, and try out "hacked" versions which are fan-made remakes of games that are usually really cool
