Retaking: Biology 1, Anatomy & Physiology. I got C's in both of them and was 10 pts away from a B in both!!!
Oh yeah, and also retaking the PCAT in October.
Curse you World of Warcraft.
I'm not repeating, but there are ~20 people in my P1 class that are.

wait a sec. You mean that there are students in the Pharmacy program who are retaking pharmacy classes?

Omg. That sucks! 🙁
I'm not repeating any classes this semester but I have in my junior year. Gen chem series & Gen bio II.. because my mind wasn't in the right place for the first 2 years of undergrad.

holy crap! Well that answers the question on how many are repeating...
I don't have C in pre-pharm course.. I thought about retaking calculus one for brushing up mathematic skills for PCAT and increased the grade for B to A. On reflection, I don't think it's worth my money and time to just increase my GPA by 0.25 while I am still taking music major courses?
Anybody retake the course where you earned "B" from?
but I planned to take Physics (calculus-based) I because I noticed online that Temple University require Calculus based physics and Cal I and II.
I completed the sequence of Algrebra based physics I and II four years ago (got A from PHYS I and B from PHYS II).
Do you guys think Cal physics are worth taking?

Uh, yeah. ~90% of them only have to repeat Biochem and Phys though, because that's all they failed.
I've never retaken the class for better grade. However, if you include retaking after withdrawing "W", unfortunately, I do have quite a number of them. Regretfully, during my freshmen/sophomore year I withdrew from a number of classes for fear of not receiving A.
For example, I withdrew from full-semester calculus II and retook calculus II during the second-half of the "same" semester and got A. Similarly, I withdrew from Calculus-based physics and retook Algebra-based physics during the "same" semester and got A.
Will adcom look ad these "Ws" negatively?

Wow, what pharmacy school is this?
It sounds like undergrad work isn't preparing people properly. Do you know if they are mostly 2 year transfers or if they mostly have a BS/BA ?

i've been told by my advisors at my undergrad univs that one...maybe two W's are okay. But if you have a bunch then it seems suspicious and probably doesn't look too good on your application.
Ouch, the WoW bug bit you lol. I completely quit an online game that I played for years cuz it could very likely screw me up in college.
It wasn't just a bite, more like a chomp lol.

The University of Oklahoma, only the best college ever. I think the main problem is the partying. Pharm students like to partay here. Woohoooo

I'm doing another post so I don't have 666 posts.

Thank goodness no!
I was fixing to retake a whole bunch of classes that I already got A's in just so that I could apply for academic forgiveness at USN for the 2008 round of applications. This would have erased all the non-pharmacy related classes I got B's and C's in. Instead I got into USN by the skin of my teeth for 2007 with my ancient B's and C's.

hey guys, i was gonna repeat two classes but i was told i couldnt because by law u cant repeat a class if u pass it with a C, so guys do u think this is true?thank u!

I don't think it is true, but it might be different at your school. At my school, you can retake classes and get the grade replaced with the better one if you get a C or below, but only for a max of three classes. I believe you can retake a course to get a better grade that will help you at admissions time even if your college won't replace the grade.
thank u all,
hey guys, i have one more question, okey if im gonna repeat a class, do u guys think i should repeat it this semester or after i m done with all my classes, the classes that i havent taken yet, and then retake the classes that i got Cs probably during the summer of 2008, i dont know if it makes sense . i jus need a comment on if i should retake the classes that i got Cs along with my other classes or should i finish all my pre-pharmacy classses first n repeat the others. it will probably be in the summer.thanx again!

well at my school, you cannot repeat any class that you're passed.
so you really oughtta check with your own school for that. But if worse comes to worse, you can always retake a class at a community college.
and i would suggest you just move on and take the new classes, instead of wasting time re-taking things that you've already gotten more than a C on.🙂
Thank U Michelle,
A C or three aren't the kisses of death, but frequent Cs are. Through my finite wisdom, I managed to get a D in accounting that was replaced by an A the summer after. For PharmCAS purposes, that D was averaged with the A but I got in regardless.
I would focus on completing your prereqs and then worrying about any Cs you encounter should you have the time and money.

I finally decided to take Calculus-based physic I. I already finished the sequence of Algebra-based physics. I am transferring to two-year college to take music classes coz it was closer and there is not many other higher science classes for me take here to increase my GPA. Cal III class is full. The music courses at 4-year college is very demanding and rigorous than 2-year-college, putting my GPA at risk.
