So did California Northstate COP get accreditation or not?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Nothing on the CNCP website yet, but don't read into that; schools are asked to wait to get their official accreditation language from ACPE before updating websites/marketing materials.

Some schools actually follow this request.
(but many don't)

The minutes from the meeting won't be posted onto the ACPE website for 4-6 weeks.

I'm actually not aware, no info from my sources, will keep you guys updated if I hear anything.

Why does it take the ACPE 4-6 weeks to make an announcement, just so these schools can spin it if it is bad news. Students are still deciding whether they should go to this school.

This school has shown that they don't have any ethics. If they already know their accreditation was denied then they need to let prospective students know immediately so they can make an informed decision.

I heard their moving the school from Rancho Cordova to Elk Grove. Why not change the name of the school too?! Nothing will change the reputation of this "pharmacy" school...

Relocating the campus will not solve the problems.

Here is one school that got full accreditation. I would imagine silence from other schools is likely to mean they didn't.

PRINCESS ANNE, MD - (June 26, 2013) –The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education announced today the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s doctor of pharmacy program has earned full accreditation.

ACPE asks ALL schools - regardless of whether the news is good or bad - to wait until they get their official 'ACPE language' before publicly broadcasting the results of the Board meeting. It usually takes a few weeks to get this language.

Anyone making early announcements is probably jumping the gun...so don't read into the fact that Northstate, North Texas, and West Coast don't have anything up on their websites yet.

California northstate college of pharmacy is fully accredited!

You have got to be f'n kidding me right now!?! What is this world coming to?!!

I can't believe this! How can ACPE support some of the *****s coming out of this school that don't know anything?! Just because Northstate gives their students a free, full review course to pass the Naplex & CPJE, doesn't mean they have the knowledge to be pharmacists. This school is a joke and everyone knows it.

Trust me, I was a preceptor and know many other preceptors that have hosted students from this school... almost failed a few students, but felt bad for them for going to a crappy school.

There are students at my school that work very hard and i am one of them. We should not be discredited because of a few students so get over it! You are now a pharmacist and if you choose not to help turn a so-called "bad" situation into a good one then please with all due respect keep it moving!

seriously!?!?! CA doesnt need one more schools. actually, i heard like 4 more in CA are trying to open up. is that true?

one of the newer schools in AZ, midwestern school of pharmacy in glendale, offers a pharmd/mba program finished in THREE years. how do u do that??!?!?! this is ridiculous. no quality, just $. im really upset.

Thanks VP_Pharm2004 for your work as a preceptor. As any new school the first class usually do not include the top students. The classes after work very hard to build a better reputation for the school so give us a chance to be successful.

Have you been in the program? It's year round with no breaks. It's a four year program accelerated and compacted into three. Midwestern is not a "newer" school, it has been around for about 15 years. Midwestern Chicago has been around for over 100 years. We just received the maximum re-accreditation allowed and preceptors rave about us, so unless you're in the program, don't comment.

you made an account just for this?

If someone was talking smack about my school and they did not know all the facts associated with the school, I too, would kindly inform them of their misunderstandings.

Plus, it is not a new account (if it really matters), it was open in April.

Of course you want to defend the school that accepts rejects from all other schools!

Human nature...

Good grief, let's hope not. The last thing we need is another pharmacy school.
