I'm a history major with a 2.73 sciGPA and a 3.74 non-sci GPA.
I am planning to graduate next fall.
If I take 3 more science courses and make A's in them all, I can get my sciGPA to be 3.0
If I get 20+ on the DAT...
Although this will postpone me graduating by next fall...Should I take these science courses in order to get my undergrad sciGPA at least 3.0 because it will allow me to have a shot at getting into dental school next cycle?
or...
Do a post-bacc?....remember, I'm a history major.
or...
Should I just graduate next fall 2011, and enter a 1-year-masters program beginning the spring of 2012 ???
I just don't know which option that dental schools would rather see me take: a 1-year-masters program, a post-bacc, or just taking the 3 science courses next semester to raise my sciGPA to 3.0

If I were you, I would take the 3 courses. Then take some more science classes next spring and delay graduating by a semester. That way you can boost your SciGPA past 3.0. Then take your DAT in the spring and apply next cycle.

If you have the opportunity to get your science gpa above a 3.0 then go for it, it will help tremendously in the long run. I was an English major and had similar stats, but I screwed up on a few big science classes so my science gpa was pretty much stuck. I ended up having to go the post bacc route, but I made a 21 on my DAT and was able to get accepted to three schools. So get the science gpa up and maybe take a few extra upper division science courses while studying for the DAT. Rock the DAT and make the rest of your application stand out and you'll be on the right track.

Best of Luck!
