So what's the deal with Stanford?

I've been complete since early september yet have not heard anything yet. I know a bunch of rejections have already been sent out last month and the month before, so what's the deal? Are they still interviewing? Do they assume i will just get the hint and know I am not Stanford material?

me too =( i called yesterday, but they said can only tell me if theyve received all my material.. which they have.
so ... it was pretty much a useless phone call.

people have been getting letters dated in late january but post marked last february. i really have no idea whats going on.
all i know is.. im gonna be not so happy when i get a rejection letter in april that was dated 1/26... leading me on like that 🙁

I have a friend who just got invited last week, but he has incredible stats so I'm not surprised. I'm still waiting as well, but my credentials are not stanford material by any means. Just out of curiosity what are your stats?

my stats are 30 and 3.7 for both overall and bcpm.
im pretty sure, for me anyway, that the mail is lost, and ill be getting a rejection letter soon that was probably dated late january =(

do you have a lot of research? I know for fact that stanford LOVESSSS reseach.

nothing too extensive. just a couple years working with melanoma stuff. i didnt put down academic medicine for their secondary question. i think i put private practice or something.

stanford also seems pretty random. i have friends that are msIII there right now and their stats and extracurriculars were similar to mine.. eh but ive already pretty much given up hope.

I think that those of us who havent been rejected yet, but have not been offered an interview either, are in the "Maybe" pile. At least thats what I keep telling myself...

nope, still no word. my theory is that all our rejection letters fell into the bottomless abyss of the US postal service.

i was complete in september and didnt hear back about an interview until the 1st week of february and then found out soon after about an acceptance. maybe theyre just slow. lovely school though. 🙂

I have a 4.0, 36Q and 3 years of cell biology research (2 papers, and a presentation at an international conference). I haven't heard a peep from Stanford yet.

Though at this point I'm actually less interested than I was when I started, so I don't really mind.
