Hey all!

Im sure there are more people out there that are in the same situation... matched to advanced (congrats!), but need to scramble for PGY-1 (booooo!)

Seems like there is a bunch of prelim surgery available, and coincidentally, that is all I have heard back from.

I was trying to look on here for advice on which Prelim Surgery to stay away from vs ones that are a little bit more understanding that I a) dont want to do surgery and b) want to do PM&R.

Ive heard that community programs are less intense (but still obvi intense) than academic/university based.
Anyway, does anyone know anything Prelim Surg programs?!

I would ask the Gen Surg forum. Are you MD or DO? If you are DO there always unfilled transitional year spots.

BTW...you should be able to find out where you match for PGY-2 by calling NRMP since you are partially matched...could help you identify which area to target on SOAP.

I am in the same position. I have not heard back from any of the medicine prelim spots I applied to on Monday. I did call the NRMP yesterday morning and they told me what city I was matched to for my advanced spot.
