Is it kosher to write about social anxiety for a challenge essay? I've not been diagnosed, so I guess stage fright/fear of public speaking would be a better description.

I've lived a pretty upper middle class life, but I know the spiel about how the challenge essay can be about dealing with short term/small difficulties too.

I went way out of my comfort zone to represent my club in a male pageant type event at my university. Dance practices and rehearsals related to the show added stresses to my studies, but the main issue I had was with anxiety about performing in front of hundreds. I didn't end up winning, but receiving so much support from friends, club members, and family definitely helped me push through. They helped me become more confident and strut my stuff so to speak.

I would say this was a key event in my life that defines who I am today. However, the experience itself showed more of how I relied on those around me than how I personally solved overcame a challenge... The whole thing meant a lot to me, but I don't know if there is a way to write it without seeming dependent on others\an insignificant ordeal.

Is this too finicky of a topic?
