Hi all,

I was recently made aware my home institution accidentally uploaded another student's transcript into my file. The correct one was uploaded quickly after the discovery was made (occurred ~5 days after ERAS opened). My home school sent out a mass email to all programs I applied to (which was all 84). I spoke with several schools and came to the realization some of the email addresses listed on ERAS are out of date or wrong person. So I'm not real sure how successful that email was in (a) getting to the right person and (b) ensuring my application would be re-downloaded.

I've been told by my home program that the problem should work itself out as all programs will be constantly uploading. I know bulk of rad onc interviews don't go out until later but I'm a little nervous as I've only received 3 preliminary year invites thus far (and I'm seeing on the SDN page quite a few I've applied to have already sent out first round).

Should I just relax and let things play out? Or do you think I need to be calling all my programs? Any other advice? (I've called all preliminary/transitional and reached 50%, left a message on 50%).

Thanks for any advice.

Short story - I think you're going to be fine. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this. The percentage of programs that have looked at any applications right now is probably super small. Many wait until after ASTRO to start going through the pile.

Long story - even if this hadn't happened, I would advise you to reach out to PD's at programs where you have a strong interest. I don't think you have to mention anything about the snafu with your school..but just an email expressing strong interest in their particular program. Beware of the cut and paste here and I would not do this to every program..but a genuine, personalized note to a PD can gain some traction IMO and in this situation, may not hurt to cover your bases.

Accidents definitely happen. I appreciate the reply and great advice. I was planning on doing something along those lines.
