But from your post you may need more grammar points than this can provide.

Respect is not demanded or given, it is earned. Your post does not demonstrate good grammar, I doubt that you will get LADoc respect with it.

Just to remind everyone, Ramzi Cotran (yes, as in Robbins & Cotran) was an IMG (American University of Beirut, BA '52, MD '56).

At the same time, proper grammar and careful proofreading are essential in pathology where much of our communication with other physicians occurs in written reports. Sloppy habits are hard to shake, so stamp them out here first before you become a pathologist and have a "failure to communicate" leading to a problem.

For the OP; yes, read Robbins & Cotran ("The Book"). Once you know that material, you can tackle the surgical pathology texts (not to open the argument about those).

Ramzi Cotran was also an incredible scholar and a gentleman, and from what I have heard an amazing teacher and advocate. Clearly many of the greatest pathologists now and in the past are IMGs. That wasn't the point.

The FAQ has a list of many useful texts.

do you think that the HIGH YIELD PATHOLOGY ((for step1)) may help???thnx

thank you for clarifying that Dj.

I never really understood why people both using the word "thnx." Not quite sure, to me, it's really not worth the effort to pause and awkwardly force your left handed wedding ring finger to the 'X' button after the N, seems unnatural. In the grand scheme of things, I often wonder if it really saves a person time by not having to type the whopping TWO extra letters for "thanks." Plus "thnx" just looks ridiculous. I'd understand if a person wrote TX or Tks, but then again, I doubt anyone would comprehend, or rather, get misinformed on the intent. My $0.02.

(sure, it again doesn't save a whole lot of time vs. "two cents", but I'll always do my part to incorporate a dollar sign into ANY sentence....) 😉

...anyways, I second the Robbins advice. It's a great general pathology text that covers the concepts behind the major diseases.
