Some new neurology programs will be beginning in 2013. Those including:

1) University of South Carolina School of Medicine/Palmetto Health Columbia, SC
2) Scott and White memorial Hospital Program Temple, TX



Happy to see that neurology training programs are slowly beginning to expand. Hope this continues to take place.

Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA also started a new neurology program last year. I believe they started their first 4 residents this month. Geisinger is a great hospital, the main downside is that Danville is in the middle of nowhere.

Does anyone know anything about Palmetto Health/University of South Carolina? I applied there, but am a little apprehensive since its a new program. Anyone from Columbia or South Carolina that can give a rundown of the hospital at all?

Word I hear is that a program is being planned at Good Samaritan in Phoenix beginning 2014. They are now a huge IM program with all subspecialties, and a strong stroke unit already in place makes it a good place on paper to open up a new program.

Of further note: this will make the 5th Neurology program in Arizona...
