I work in a recovery room taking care of open heart surgery patients. Once a while we have a ortho surgeon do a hip or a total knee at our facility if the patient has some significant cardiac history. This week we had a D.O.come do some hips.can you believe that? i thought all they could do was manipulation and primary care. boy was i wrong. ok im kidding. it was awesome! he was quick and efficient.

point of this post: keep your head and keep on trucking! you can do it!

also im excited that arkansas is getting a D.O school in 2016. yeeehaw!

Did you really make a thread to point out a DO did a good job? How is this news?

Also don't get your point of this thread thing. Don't get how the first part relates to the second. I have theories but not going to say them because I'm not about to get into a fight.

I agree. Being a DO isn't a huge deal.

well that escalated quickly. just happy to see a DO thats all. im looking forward to becoming one someday.

I once saw a DO wash his hands after coming out of a patient's room.
It was awesome. I didn't know DOs knew anything about microbes.

Protip: OMM is contraindicated for Ebola.

Ok fine. I'm sorry I made this thread. I feel like I just made an idiot out of myself. just happy my state is getting a do school and that I saw a do @ work.

You don't need to be sorry, or feel like an idiot.
I think the folks above are just trying to tell you DO=physician, and there shouldn't be an expectation that their work is more or less than an MD.
Don't lose your enthusiasm though.

Meh. You gotta learn to grow a thick skin in this business.

Get in someplace, work hard and you'll be fine.
