I am about to submit my application, but I am still not sure if I should single-space or double-space my SOP.
My SOP is ~1000 words, and when single-spaced, it is a little less than 2 pages.

If I double space it, it will be easier for people to read, but it would be a total of 3 pages.

In what format did you submit your SOP?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

you don't get to choose the format... sophas makes you enter the SOPs into a text box so it doesn't matter. it wiill go in as single-spaced.

I'm doing 1 non-sophas application so far. For the University of New Mexico, which is due very soon, there is a list of questions rather than a SOP. For that, I answered each question single spaced and put a double space between each question answer.

i'm applying to usc and plan to double space my PS/SOP.

most likely the admissions committee will print out my PS/SOP and wana write notes, so it's jolly good if you double spaced that thang, allowing them to write like crazy.
