I have attended two universities in the past that are hours away from me. Is there any way to have them submit my transcripts online? Or is the only way to send them the form on the site, and then have them mail it to sophas? it seems like such a long process. thanks!

The only way to know for sure is to call SOPHAS and/or the universities you attended. SOPHAS requires "official" transcripts- usually with a seal or Registrar's signature, etc. Transcripts you would have access to (like on a student records browser) wouldn't be official.

FYI: I had the same problem last year...it takes a while for everything to be processed, so I would get started ASAP. Sorry I don't have better news.

I had scanned the forms over to the authorities in charge of transcripts, and they mailed the official transcripts to SOPHAS. I believe SOPHAS has already received them, and this process took about a week. I didnd't want to mail the forms over since my university was hours away, and scanning was just easier since they'd receive it within the same day, even the same hour.

thanks for your replies. By scanning do you mean faxing? That's a great idea, one I hadn't thought of.. I will call my past schools and attempt to do that.

Yup, you can definitely fax. I actually scanned/emailed the attachment because my fax machine didnt work -_-

It depends on the school you attended. One of mine didn't allow faxed transcript requests- they required them in person or by mail. As I was 14 hours away, mail was my only choice. I think, in total, it was about 1.5 weeks before the SOPHAS website said they had received my transcripts.

Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. 🙂
