Hey y'all. I'm currently a freshman at a very southern school, and am thinking about going through sorority recruitment next fall as a sophomore. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, and at my school, the sororities/frats seem to provide the best service and leadership opportunities on campus. All of the NPC sororities at my school have great reputations, so if I actually survive the crazy competitive southern rush, I won't be part of a shady chapter or anything!
I'm just really worried that adcomms (especially outside of the south) might not have a very positive view of it and dismiss me because of it.
Do you think it would hurt me at all to go Greek come application time?
edit: I am almost done with my freshman year (about to be a sophomore)! I got a couple of PMs that were under the impression that I was about to start freshman year and just wanted to clear up any confusion) 🙂
