I got in! :hardy: I'm so surprised I heard from them so early because I was just interviewed Friday. Just wanted to say how much I love this school. The people are so nice and willing to work with you if you have any questions or concerns. I am a second-year applicant and I really regret not applying to this school last year. Here are my stats (for those who are interested):

B.S. Biology May 2007
3.04 Overall GPA
96% PCAT
2.5 years pharmacy experience (0.5 year at Walgreens)
Community service (packing medical supplies to 3rd world countries, homeless shelter, environment-related clubs)

you should put your stats in your tagline because people will keep asking you over and over.. just a suggestion. 😎😉

Congrats!!! South is my first choice..how early did you apply?

South received my PharmCAS on December 4th, my interview was December 14th, and I got accepted the 17th. It actually took PharmCAS a whole 5 weeks to calculate my GPA and mail my applications off. But everything's good now that I got in. Good luck to you! :luck:

How was the interview???

You get two interviewers and they ask you questions like "Why South?" and "Why do you want to become a pharmacist?" My hardest question was "What is your greatest weakness?" The good thing is, they make you feel comfortable during the interview so there's no reason to get nervous! You'll know what I mean once you get there. Just play up your strong points and you should do fine. Oh, a lot of people didn't expect this but there's also an essay to write.

I had my interview on November the 9th and literally received an email within 3 days of the interview. Hopefully to instill a bit more confidence in all who are applying - the interview process isn't bad at all. The best advice I can give to you is to just enjoy the whole day and realize that you've made it that far, and should feel proud of yourself.

With respect to South University's method of interviewing, there are 3 components to the process. You'll be grouped with a few other people, and will get to tour the campus and the buildings with current students, be required to write a < one page essay, and at some point in time be interviewed by two separate faculty members. Each individual interview is straight-up generic and basically they want to see how well you can collect your thoughts as well as what your incentives are for wanting to pursue pharmacy. Depending upon which group you are placed in, each segment of your day can be at a different time. Don't think that you need to practice answering questions - I didn't and I don't think that it would have helped at all. In fact, it probably would have made me more nervous or made me feel like there is a specific answer for each question.

Some suggestions...
When being interviewed by the students, definitely ask questions and be really personable - when I was leaving the building that day, the two girls that toured my group told me that they had recommended me and that they were there to give the admissions people feedback about their ability to relate to other youngsters. Also, when being interviewed by the faculty, don't hesitate to ask questions (with confidence) of the faculty. They are essentially trying to sell their services as a school, and most are probably eager to boast about their efforts. It will probably also let them see that you're comfortable in a professional environment.

Hope this might help anyone out there that might be feeling a bit overwhelmed or terrified of interviewing. I'm looking forward to being a student at South this next June! Don't hesitate to send me questions/comments. Thanks.
