Are there any programs in the south were average(217) to above average (225) step I scores are not enough to be considered for an interview? If anyone has experience applying in the south with scores in this range, I would be very appreciative or your advice. Thanks so much for the help.

I was talking more specifically about texas programs. Any input owuld be appreciated

My numbers are in that range and I interviewed at all the programs in Texas.

Take care,
Jeff

The Texas programs (when I went there) weren't all that competitive compared to the west coast. My Step scores were in the 230's, and I interviewed all the programs. Not that the programs are subpar, but hey, location location locations. Really the only people you're competing with are other Texans and others in the Southwest. For the west coast programs, you're competing against people from all over the country.

By comparison, I got very few west coast interviews.
