Hello, I transcribe medical records and the "space of Aries" comes up in a lot of gynecological reports. Here is how it is used.

"The round ligament was dissected and the 'space of Aries' was opened up using the cautery."

I cannot document space of Aries though I have heard it many times.

Can anyone verify this term? Google does not bring up anything.

Thank you for any help!

Perhaps they are referring to the space of Retzius?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The word does not sound like Retzius. I sure appreciate your opinion though.

could they be saying capillaries.. and not "space of aries"

Could you use it in a different sentence please?

Origin, different pronunciation? 🙄

I wonder if it is Sampson's Artery that they are refering to which would make sense 😉

Hi,

You asked for "space of Aries" to be used in another sentence.

I don't have any reports available right now, but here is a partial sentence using 'space of Aries'. This is from an online journal, and I do not have access to the whole sentence, however.

"If removal of the ovaries was indicated, each fallopian tube was folded back on itself to allow the endocutter to be placed in the space of Ayres across the... "

The sentence is not finished. So, if anyone has any ideas about 'space of Aries or Ayres, please let me know.

Thanks
