I may already know the answer to this... but I just want some confirmation!

In the space where you are permitted to discuss factors that may explain any negative aspects of your academic record, is it inappropriate to blame first and second year science courses (which I found particularly challenging) for my initially-low GPA? My cumulative GPA is 3.6, 'final year' (last 10 courses) is 3.7, and psychology GPA is 3.8, if that matters at all.

TIA everyone 🙂

I wouldn't bother to explain your "low GPA", as your final GPA, end-of-school GPA, and major GPA are all high enough to pass through most school "cut offs". I'd find it highly unlikely that a few low grades early in your college career would have any impact on your admissions whatsoever.

I agree w/ researchgirl. Also, those numbers are eerily similar to mine and were definitely sufficient when I applied. I didn't mention them and neither did anyone else.

Agreed. You'd likely put yourself in the position of having to demonstrate mastery over breakthrough anxiety and fear of inadequacy...;-)

I have a 3.3 and I'm not justifying it.

So do you think it's ok to leave this space blank then?

yep. a 3.6 is not a negative, so unless you have something else, you're in the clear.
