Specialty License in the US Without Taking the ADEX

Forgive me if this information is out there already. I tried checking various posts for more information. I'm currently a general dentist in Canada that graduated from a Canadian dental school in 2021. I've taken the INDBE written however I haven't taken the ADEX clinical exams. I'm going to be starting a 2-year Peds residency this summer in the USA and was thinking that afterwards I might work in the US for a little while. Was wondering if anyone knew of any states where I'd be able to work as a pediatric dentist after my residency without having taken the ADEX (If you couldn't already tell, I really don't want to take the ADEX haha)

I know NYS is one of the states that requires residency to gain license.
