this is for #123 on Destroy's Gen chem section. It says that a very small specific heat will give rise to a large change in Temperature. but the formula for delta H is mcdeltaT so i'm confused.

I believe its because you have m and Delta T on the same side of the equation. Which means that they are inverse of one another. Think of it this way, to solve for delta T, you have to divide by m. With now the m being in the denominator, you can see that if you had a small denominator you would get a large number over all in this case Delta T.


I hope I made sense. The key is that they they are inverse of another one. At least that is how I remember it. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG, PLZ!
 
^yes that's true.

If you know what specific heat means, it will also make it easier.

Specific heat is heat required to change its temp by 1 celsius(i think).
so higher the specific heat, the more heat u need to change the temp.
Since you have low specific heat, even a little heat stimulation will change the temperature.

Assuming that the same amount of heat is given to
1. high specific heat
2. low specific heat

you will have bigger change in temperature (delta T) with #2 than #1.
