OK, so it's a little late, but does anyone have a key for speed in the physical sciences section? I'm scoring 10s, but I'm leaving the last few passages with all A's. Wow to us, the calculator dependent.

I never finish with time to spare. I usually try to finish four passages per half hour. And the FSQs don't take that much time depending on their difficulty. If they're lab experiments, where you're comparing the results of different experiments, that tends to slow me down so I can fully understand each experiment.

Practice with the Kaplan PS practice sections, haha.

work through them as fast as you can...in april i was off to a fast start...then around passage 5 and 6 i started getting stuck and was intent on getting the questions right...i soon fell behind pace and had to rush at the end...couldnt get to the last passage so completely guessed on 7 questions...scored a 11 i guess because of the curve....so its ok to skip questions/move on and come back later...i still find it hard to do that but its absolutely vital to success on the test because there will be questions that will get stump you and you cant let it get to you...

I think it's a good idea to try to speed up as long as you don't compromise speed for accuracy. I'm sure you would do perfectly fine if you had to guess on a passage but you were confident on most of the other passages.

i barely read the passages anymore. i was having problems finishing too, but when i just started LIGHTLY skimming the passages, i found i was doing a lot better without much change in accuracy. it depends on the passage also-- if it's heavy in text, i take a lil more time to look at it. if it's just a paragraph with a chart, i barely bother to look at it. try it out on a couple of paragraphs, and see how you do.
