Not sure what the context was. Something that comes to mind though is splenic vein thrombosis in the setting of chronic pancreatitis which presents with left-sided portal hypertension and splenomegaly.

It was in a lecture about palpating the spleen to assess its size. It then listed conditions in which the spleen would be noticeably larger (i.e, splenomegaly), such as a tumor, leukemias, etc. But one point was splenic infarct. So i was like wtf. Thanks anyway
