Since SRY gene on Y-chromosome codes for testes-determining factor, if you knock out the gene, you get complete female phenotype, including ovaries.

My questions are:

1) What would the ovaries look like in these women? Fully developed?

2) They WOULD have secondary sex characteristics, correct?

Even though they technically have only one X-chromsome, I wouldn't think that the ovarian / developmental outcome would be similar to Turner's.

I just need someone's input.

Interesting.

So phenotypically normal female until puberty, when upon failure of secondary sex characteristics becomes notable; this is due to the streak gonads.

Basically a reproductive/hormonal profile identical to Turner's, except instead of the classic 45XO phenotype, there's merely lack of puberty.

Thanks again, ijn.
