I am wondering if anyone has heard back from St. Augustine for the Fall 2014 Class? I have applied to the one in San Diego. Please let me know if you hear back whether its good or bad!

its getting close to the end of the month anyone hear anything? Im anxious to know.
I recently talked to a admissions counselor from St. Augustine and she said that they probably would send out either interviews at the end of this week or well into the first week of Feb. She said interviews are held on March 7th I believe for San Marcos campus and that a lot of apps are backed up so it might take a little longer

I just talked to the admissions counselor since I was figuring out my application with them. Feb. 28th is the interview date for san marcos campus. They should be sending interview emails out in a week or two at the most for interviews.

Was this for DPT or OT?

I have not heard anything yet. I check my application status and it still says I am under a transcript review.

I'm interviewing on March 22 (tomorrow!) too. What program are you interviewing for? MOT, FlexMOT, or DPT?
Yes I interviewed for the FlexMOT. Which program are you interested in? ..and How was your interview? Did you get any reply back yet...?

No I'm MOT but I know someone who interviewed for DPT that same day (2/28) and she found out the same day I did (3/14) via Phone Call
Okay thank you. I applied to the May 2014 for DPT and got wait listed. They said that they would roll me over into September admissions, then I got an email asking if I could start class May 7th quoting a few more spots had become available. I replied to the email that I could not begin May 7th at this late notice but would still like to be considered for September. I didn't know the time frame of when they may would go back to the previous years admission and see who could attend come fall. I was guessing it would be after they accepted the first round of applicants for fall.

I interviewed for the FlexMOT program also. I haven't heard anything yet. Have you? I was thinking we may not until after the AOTA conference (April 3-6).

I haven't heard anything yet neither...I thought we will know it by this Friday ... maybe not ...because of the AOTA conference....

Congrats 2bECS! I got put on a post-interview waitlist (!) What's that exactly mean.....? Anyone?

It means you have not been accepted (or rejected) and if a spot opens up (ie. an accepted applicant rejects the offer) you may be offered a seat in the class. At the University of St. Augustine, your status of post-interview waitlist also means you will automatically be considered for the following entering class (Winter 2015, without having to resubmit an application) if you are not accepted for the fall of 2014.

For those of you who re-applied, how did you do your autobiography and statement of purpose? Did you create completley new essays or did you just revise it with things that you did to improve your application? I am in the process of re-applying and not sure if i can or should recycle my essays and just revise them. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Oh and i have another question, i took GRE again hoping to get a higher score. I got exactly 294. Last year i crammed and got like 291, but it still got me an interview spot, but then i was rejected. I know that was my weakness in my application last year. It is still a minimum score but at least i improved from last year. My question is, do you think or recommend that i should take it again since i have enough time before the deadline on June 15th, or should i let it be and focus on other stuff like adding volunteer hours?

i've been told not to take the GRE.. i did and scored one point better than before. i don't think it gets significantly better i would focus on other parts like you said!

I just got an e-mail saying that I got accepted into the Fall 2014 class on the Florida campus. I got wait-listed for the Summer semester and my application rolled over into the Fall semester. Anyways I'm very excited! Congrats to everyone and see you guys then!

Just starting my OT journey myself. One year left for my undergrad. Lots of info on this site. MOT4ME, check St. Augustine's website. I believe the cost of tuition for the san diego campus that you (and myself) are looking into is about 18k a trimester, for the full time MOT program.

I have concerns regarding USA's program and newer for profit OT programs affecting the prestige of the OT profession. My friend and I applied to this fall semester for the MOT program in San Marcos. While I got offered an interviewed (turned it down, committed to another program), she was rejected. She actually understood, because she has about a 2.4 gpa, still has anatomy & physiology in progress, and her observation hours were about half complete. It was the only school she applied to because she just wanted to see how it would go. However, they contacted her two weeks ago, offering her an interview for this past Saturday because they weren't able to fill their class with their original rounds of interviews. I know that in Southern California alone there are two OT programs in the process of accreditation, which I feel just makes it easier to get accepted to "any OT grad program."

I hope I'm not offending anyone who has attended or is attending USA. I have met a few really great OTs that graduated from there and inspired me to apply there in the first place. I also know many of you have worked really hard for your acceptance. It may be an unique situation, but I found this extremely strange...

Hi OTgirl80, did you mean that you both applied in Dec 2013 for the Sept 2014 Semester? Did she get in?

I think USA should seriously begin to ask themselves why their program costs $120k to complete when the average starting OT salary is around 50k a year. It seems quite unfair, and I think it should be a question more people are raising, personally.
120k is for the dual program.

MOT4ME, if you do the calculations- for one trimester it is, what did I say 14K? That means for the 2 year course (6 trimesters) the cost would be around 86k. While not over 100k, it is still a hefty price to pay for education when the starting salary is 50-70k.

OTgirl80, While that is odd that she would get a call back for a 2.4 GPA that is good news for people like myself who only has USA as the only choice in southern cali. I'm moving to San Diego from Chicago next june and the only school close enough to La jolla (where i'll be living) is USA. LLU is a 2 hour drive!

But, you mentioned there are two other schools getting accrediation from AOTA?? If possible, could you give me the names of them? If anyone else is sensitive to this topic and wants more timely communication you can PM me and i'll give you my email. I need all the advice I can get (and I don't mind giving any also)!!

I got put on a wait list for the flex MOT. I applied for the Fall. just got an email that they pushed my application for the January term. What's the guarantee? Is this happened to anyone? Should I consider another program? I really like the St. Augustine Campus and I rather wait if I can get in...
