Rotated through it as a student. The education (from the point of view of attending actively devoting time to resident education) is very good there. The patient population is old as dirt and you'll see more DM + CHF + Dialysis patients than you'll ever want in your whole life. The hospital looks like a third world hospital. Don't let the looks get you down.
From what I saw the traditional interns match decently afterwards. There are definitely a few well connected people (though only a few) there who will expend good effort helping you match by calling in favors. An occurrence that should be commonplace everywhere, but sometimes places don't make those calls from what I hear.
