Hi, I just interviewed for the PhD program at St. John's (Child Track)! I really liked the program (also interviewed at LIU-Brooklyn and Ferkauf Yeshiva PhDs in the area) but I am from California and do not know too much about the reputations of the different programs in the area. If anyone can give me ANY information about the following, I would greatly appreciate it:

1. reputation of the program especially in regards to getting good externships in the area during the third and fourth year practicum
2. reputation of the program in California... do people know about it? is it respected? Will I get an APA internship in California? Will I get a good job there?
3. is it feasible to commute from manhattan or is that a crazy idea?
4. any information that you think is important when making a decision about this school

One of my other top choices right now is the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium. If anyone has any information on how this program would compare to St. John's as far as reputation in California goes, please post! (also I already know how expensive the PGSP-Stanford program is and it is definitely deterring me from that program a LOT... so rants about the cost of that program aren't really needed for this post.... I already know...and have already read the other threads about it).

i'll send you a PM
