Finished yet another UWorld block of 48 questions just now. And what's my cumulative percentage overall? Exactly the same as it was 3 f***** weeks ago.

Sure, when I keep solidifying more and more knowledge and relationships as I study, just keep on handing me more obscure topics about diseases found in 1 in every 8,276,516,000 black male Ashkenazi Jews that no one has ever heard of, and where less than 15% of UWorld users get it right because of a lucky guess.

Not to mention the obligatory 5+ questions in every damn set that pertain to Cystic Fibrosis, or albralolafineazolalimumab, some experimental new drug for some malignancy.

Um, yeah. 👍

It's about owning on test day. Not uworld. I'm happy when uworld owns me. That means I learn a new weapon for the real test.

Yeah, some UWorld questions are a stinking pile of liquid dog mess. But it makes me so frustrated when I do poorly that the answers really stick in my mind. My scores aren't that much different than a week or two ago (sometimes much worse even) but I know a ton more. And that difference will be the difference come test day.

Hang in there! 👍

This 65-75% range is getting really old. I was scoring this 3 weeks ago. UWorld keeps throwing me these ridiculous questions over Histo and Pharm minutiae that are just not important... and always manages to shove like 10 impossible questions (i.e. Hepatobiliary) in a row at the end of every block. The UWorld user average of the 9 Pharm questions in the block I just completed was 36% (yes I actually calculated it)... you've got to be kidding me.

This is not what I want to see (let alone waste my evening going over the answers for useless crap) 5 days before my exam.

I may have to show UWorld the door pretty soon.

Lately my goal on UWorld is not to miss questions that >50% of people got right. I don't mind (as much) missing those where like <30% of people got right. Just trying to keep it real - a 75% to me feels like an awesome score (esp after blocks in the 40s).

Um......being in the 65-75% range is solid. Gunner

And here is where my empathy officially stops.

I was feeling pretty down about my stagnant scores (been getting 60-65 for the past 2 weeks, and REALLY wishing I could get to the 65-70 range)... I was glad I found this little thread

Anyone else feeling discouraged by not seeing nice UW increases?

dude, I started off U WORLD in the high 70's. i ended up somehwere in the mid 70's at the end. lol, when you are already that high, you can't essentially "improve" because its always going to be random ass questions that are in UWORLD that will screw you.

so don't let it bug you man. my UWORLD percentage when slightly down as the weeks went by but I gained about 20 - 30 points on my practice tests.

What's with all the 70's... I am starting to feel bad now..Thanks alot guys.

i started it 4 weeks into my study period so had a HUGE head start. don't worry. i wish you could turn in your UWORLD score report for your actual step 1 grade. but you can't, lol. doesn't mean jack unless you do pwn it on the test.

Agree... we have to consider that doing a block or 2 at home with snacks by our side is not the same as going through what will feel like endless blocks. Keeping up the stamina and having a good night's sleep is going to be critical. I for one will not do well if I haven't slept well, no matter how much I may know. I so want this to be over and have a life again.
