"Typically, there is not a great deal of movement on the waitlist and there is a chance that we may not even offer admissions to anyone from the waitlist as was the case last year..."

just make the most of it. you have your shot. many people have been rejected or haven't been notified about the interview yet (can you sense i'm referring to myself? :0). if you keep focusing on the bad, you're not going to be yourself and portray yourself well.
