Hello all...

I was at a pre-med conference last weekend and there was a representative from Stanford there. I was starting to get anxious because I haven't heard anything, so I asked him about interviews. Now, I don't know what they'd tell you if you called, but when I talked to the rep, he told me that they aren't even going to start inviting people for interviews until December.

Soooooo...anyone with their hopes on Stanford, they haven't even started interviewing yet....unless he just wanted me to leave him alone and make me go away... :scared:

Good luck everyone!

If you look at their webpage it states that they will not even start giving interview invites until Nov. Seems like the cal schools are really slow. 🙁

fine with me! i'm such a procrastinator i still have not done my stanford secondary, and it is one of my top choices. so personally, i'm glad to not be behind now.

Hi all,
I am a current Stanford med student, and if you are worrying about not getting an interview invite from Stanford yet, dont freak out. At least not for now =)

This year Stanford dosnt screen for secondaries so there is an even greater number of applications to review for interviews. This and the fact that there are fewer faculty readers compared to other med schools (stanford is a relatively small school) mean the application cycle will be even slower (yes, even slower than years past). First few batches of interview invites should be sent out in mid november, and the interview season probably will not start until december. The majority of interviews will be conducted between January and April.

I hope this helps attenuate some of your anxieties.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info...btw, how do you like the new curriculum? I think it would ROCK, but you're a student, how do you like it?

what is a secondary?

👎 Go read some premed books or lurk a little longer before asking something like this in a thread about something else.

After you send a common application to all the schools you apply to (Primary Application), each school will individually send you a supplementary application to fill out (called a secondary). Some schools will give this to everyone who sends in a primary while others will screen people out (reject them pre-secondary). Secondaries may or may not have additional information/essays to fill out. You can't get in to a school with out filling out a secondary.
